I don't buy the whole the soldiers are poor people following orders argument anymore, they can revolt, refuse to follow orders, or be fucking collateral damage for all I care.

it's not like the soldiers are the only ones suffering.

We know how totally corrupt our system of government is. I think this is where the problem lies, not in the person of the soldiers. Although I totally understand the families' reaction in this picture, and would like to think that I would have done the same in their situation. This is not surprising when the concerned officials' (on whose shoulders rest the responsibility for this catastrophe in the first place) way way of dealing with grieving families is with tear gas and rubber coated bullets.
