Reflection (and refraction)

As doubtful as I am at times – in fact, most of the time – to come forth (even to myself) as the author of this blog, as I look back through the back posts I must admit that I feel proud of what I've written in this blog. A voice at this moment is heard that says, "Grow up, fool! It's only a blog!..." I heed this voice, I really do, but am still powerless in face of the foolishness.

And the rambling goes on...

And yet this foolishness of mine, crippling as it may be sometimes, is still the muse protecting the freedom of what I write. I feel many bloggers are censoring themselves at times from what they may want to say, either from friends, associates, or political affiliations; and so it turns into another social gathering - just one online. And so I've taken on blogging as an abstract concept, tackling on abstract ideas and thoughts emitted, absorbed and exchanged by people - but not people as people, which I think diminishes from the aspects offered by the blog. But that, let us not be fooled, is an abstract world in itself, one that exists within different parameters than the world unplugged.* And thus I can't really claim to you that the voice coming to you through this blog is my inner voice; rather it is a voice of a narrator which I, and all of us to different, and differing, degrees, have chosen to explore within the parameters offered, and formed by us, within the blog.

I and my alternate voices will now shut up. (p.s.: I promise you I am not schizophrenic; this is just me exploring the make-shift world yada yada, zzzz...explained above.)

* And yet we can't really say that we live in a world today that is entirely unplugged; it is partly unplugged and partly – in fact, arguably now mostly - plugged. We are constantly redefining the parameters of the world we live in as we move along in time…

Hi Seneferu;
First thanks for letting me seeing your blog!

I just can't disagree with you on that!...As you mentioned, in real world there are parameters that diminish our communications at least to the degree that make the whole thing much less useful. On one hand blogging is something doesn't have to be so serious but on the other hand it would be great to, at least, use it to tackle important issues. But unfortunately we are plagued with many stupidity around us and fears for our safety,...etc. Personally I look at it as some kind of stress release or a break from my busy life...

I think you have the right to be proud of what you write. I actually like your analysis even when I disagree with them sometime...So man please keep up the good work and don't give up writing. Think of it as a documentary or a kinetics of your thoughts...or perhaps as a time witness on events that you thought matter..in short nothing is wasted...

Welcome, Ayyam. Like you said, thoughts do change and evolve through time...but it's interesting to look back at them. Thanks for the compliment (I'll send you your check in the mail!).
